Are Allen’s Milko Stick Gluten Free?

Produced in New Zealand by Allen’s, a 128+ year old confectioner, Milko Sticks are a soft, creamy, milk flavoured chew made with sweet condensed milk.

Popularised in the 1980’s, Milko Sticks are still a popular choice today with kids and adults throughout Australia and New Zealand, and can be found inside Allen’s Chew Mix family bags as well as individual 800g pouches.

According to Nestlé Australia’s Gluten Avoidance PDF (found here), Allen’s Milko Sticks are gluten-free and safe for consumption by Coealics and the gluten-sensitive.

This is also reconfirmed with a “free from gluten” icon on the Milko Sticks product page.

Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Sweetened Condensed Milk (Milk, Sugar), Vegetable Fat, Flavours, Gelatine, Salt, Emulsifier (Monoglyceride)
