Nescafé Gold Blend is an instant coffee mixture developed by Nescafé for a smooth, rich & premium flavour, making it a favourite in households around the world.
Whereas most instant coffees are produced using cheaper Robusta coffee beans, Nescafé Gold Blend is produced using premium Arabica beans sourced from coffee producing countries around the world.
These beans are roasted, finely ground and brewed with hot water to extract the coffee flavour. Water from this brewed coffee is then evaporated and the left over dissolved sediment is freeze-dried to produce the familiar soluble coffee crystals.
But are these instant coffee crystals gluten free? Let’s find out…
Is Nescafé Gold Gluten Free?
The answer is: YES!
At no point during the production process of instant coffee are gluten-containing ingredients used. In fact, the only thing that goes into the production of Nescafé Gold Blend is good ol’ coffee beans.
Nescafé Gold Blend has also been confirmed as gluten-free by Nescafé themselves in their Gluten Avoidance PDF, which can be found here.
To paraphrase the document:
Nescafé Gold… does not contain ingredients containing gluten, namely wheat, oats, rye, barley and spelt and/or; does not have ingredients derived from these cereals and have not been processed on equipment containing these ingredients”
So, you can rest easy knowing that your morning cuppa Joe is gluten-free and absolutely safe for Coeliacs.
Now that you know that Nescafe Gold Blend is gluten free, let’s see if another Nescafe product passes the test:
