Panda Express is an American fast food chain serving American Chinese cuisine, with locations all around the United States. There are over 2,200 Panda Express restaurants around North America and some locations in Asia and the Middle East as well. Having over 2,200 locations makes Panda Express the largest Asian restaurant chain in the US.

The fast food Asian restaurant chain is known for their popular orange chicken, beijing beef, teriyaki flavors, and much more. They also serve a variety of sides including fried rice, chow mein, egg rolls and rangoon.

Panda Express Gluten Free Menu

These are all the gluten free options we could find at Panda Express. Note all items listed below do not contain wheat or gluten, based on the Panda Express menu. These items still have the potential for cross contamination and other traces of gluten, so please keep that in mind.

Panda Express shares this statement on their site:

Panda uses ingredients that contain all the major FDA allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, shellfish, milk, soy and wheat). Panda prepares its entrees fresh with shared cooking equipment and therefore allergens could be present in any entree. No MSG added except for that naturally occurring in certain ingredients.

Ingredients are based upon standardized recipes. Variations in nutrition values may occur based upon regional and seasonal ingredient differences, packaging differences and menu items being individually hand served. Panda uses ingredients that contain all the major FDA allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, shellfish, milk, soy and wheat). Panda prepares its entrees fresh with shared cooking equipment and therefore allergens could be present in any entree. Panda Express does not have any vegetarian or gluten free dishes. No MSG added except for that naturally occurring in certain ingredients.

Items to Avoid at Panda Express

These items all contain gluten or have a very high risk for gluten contamination:

  • All Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, and Vegetables options contain wheat.
  • The fried rice and super greens contain wheat.

 

Summary of Gluten Free Menu Options at Panda Express

Pro tips and a quick summary of everything gluten free at Panda Express

  1. When you order at the store or on the app, tell them you have an allergy or Celiac Disease so they take precautions with your food.
  2. Panda Express has very limited options. The only safe items are steamed white or brown rice, some sauces, and apple crisps.
  3. Panda Express has limited reviews on the Find Me Gluten Free app. All ratings are low and share their frustrations with the limited options
  4. Personal experiences here are unknown. I will update this post if I ever go to Panda Express and/or if they ever get gluten free options.
